Three sample painter websites, built as real pages for businesses that don't exist
Each one is working HTML and CSS, not a mock-up picture, and each is laid out for a different buyer. The businesses are fictional, so every name, place and detail is made up. Your site uses your own words and photos.
Kettle & Brush Painters
House painter, Nelson and Tasman
Sample design, fictional business
Who this business sells to
A two-person repaint business whose work comes from homeowners and landlords. Customers are comparing two or three painters and want to see finished houses and know the prep is done properly.
Why it is laid out this way
- A finished weatherboard house fills the right side of the first screen, because the work sells the business.
- The headline names the job and the region in one line, so a local visitor knows they are in the right place.
- The quote button says "Request a quote" and sits in the header and the hero.
- Three tiles below the hero split exterior, interior and areas, each one a link to its own page.

Steelyard Commercial Painting
Commercial contractor, Waikato
Sample design, fictional business
Who this business sells to
A contractor working for facilities managers, schools and main contractors. Buyers check the site before adding a painter to a tender list, so capability and process matter more than colour.
Why it is laid out this way
- A darker, steel-toned palette that reads as a contractor, not a homeowner service.
- The main button asks for a site visit, and a second link offers a capability statement.
- Four sector tiles under the hero let a buyer go straight to relevant work.
- Health and safety is in the top navigation, because buyers look for it first.

Linden Room Decorating
Decorator and wallpaper hanger, Dunedin
Sample design, fictional business
Who this business sells to
A decorator who hangs wallpaper and does feature walls for homeowners and interior designers. The site has to look considered and make booking a colour consultation easy.
Why it is laid out this way
- A serif headline and a softer palette suit design-led work without feeling fussy.
- The arched wallpaper panel echoes a finished feature wall.
- The main button books a colour consultation, the first paid step for most jobs.
- Portfolio tabs by room let visitors browse the way they plan: by the space they want to change.

The same business, as we find it and as we build it
Many painting businesses already have a website, just not a useful one. Drag the slider to compare an outdated homepage with the Kettle & Brush sample.
What changes:
- A long welcome paragraph becomes one clear line about the job and the region
- A broken image box becomes a finished house
- "Call us" becomes a quote button that works at 9pm
- A Facebook link becomes pages for services and areas
How your own site comes together
These samples show structure and approach. Your site follows the same thinking, shaped around your services, your area and your photos. Colours come from your logo or van signage if you have them, or from a simple palette we suggest if you don't. Logo design itself isn't part of the plan.
The pieces every painter site gets are listed on what is in the plan, and the cost is on the cost page.
