Every part of the painter website plan, and the job it does
Twelve parts, each one built around how people actually choose a painter. All of it is in the one plan: NZ$269 a month plus NZ$549 setup, GST may apply. Nothing is itemised on top.
Your site has two jobs to do for you
Make a stranger trust you with their house
Someone who has never met you is deciding whether to let you near their weatherboards, their floors and their kids' bedrooms. Finished work, your prep process, the suburbs you cover and real reviews do that job.
Gallery · service pages · suburbs · colour consults · reviews
Make it easy to ask for a quote
Once they trust you, the next step has to be obvious on a phone at 9pm: a quote form that asks about the job, a number that dials when tapped, and a button that is always within reach.
Quote form · built for phones · readable by search engines
The last five parts keep both jobs working after launch: hosting, security, monthly edits, the enquiry report and clear ownership of your domain and content.
A quote form that asks about the job, not for a message
A generic "contact us" box gets you "how much to paint my house?" and three rounds of phone tag before you know whether it is a single-storey weatherboard or a two-storey plaster job. Your quote form asks the questions you would ask on the first call, so the first message is enough to price the job or book the visit.
We set the fields to suit the work you do. A house painter needs interior or exterior, rooms or storeys, cladding and suburb. A decorator needs wall size and whether the paper is chosen. A commercial contractor needs scope and access hours. Customers can attach photos, which saves a site visit for small jobs.
The form can also say whether you give quotes or estimates. The difference matters to customers: Consumer Protection describes a quote as an offer to do a job for a specified price 2 .
A before and after gallery grouped by job type, not a feed
Painting is bought on photos. A finished repaint is the strongest thing you can show, and on a social feed it disappears within days. On your site the pairs sit in a gallery grouped by job type: exteriors, interiors, roofs, fences and decks, wallpaper, commercial. A customer with a tired weatherboard villa finds a matching job in two taps instead of scrolling past everything you have ever painted.
Each before and after pair gets a short caption, such as the area and the prep involved, and alt text that describes what the photo shows. Google describes alt text as short, descriptive alt text 4 , and it also helps anyone using a screen reader.
Consent: a photo of someone's home is theirs to agree to. Ask before you share it, leave out house numbers and faces, and tell us which photos you have permission to use.
A page for every service you actually do
Someone who needs their iron roof painted doesn't want to scroll past bedroom photos. Each service you offer gets its own page with its own photos, the questions customers ask about that job, and a quote button.
- Exterior house painting
- Interior painting
- Roof painting
- Wallpaper hanging
- Fences, decks and outdoor timber
- Commercial and new-build work
Those are examples. You tell us what you actually do, and we build pages for those services only.
Your suburbs, named where customers look for them
People look for their own suburb or town name before they read anything else. Your site lists the areas you work in on an areas page and in the footer of every page, with a line about how you handle jobs just outside them.
We don't create dozens of near-identical pages for towns you don't really serve. Customers can tell, and Google's spam policies describe city pages that funnel visitors to one page as doorway abuse 3 .
Colour consultations, explained well enough to book
If you offer colour advice, it deserves its own section: what a consultation covers, how long it takes, whether there's a fee and whether it comes off the job. A clear explanation turns "I'm not sure what colour" into a booked visit.
The section can link to your own booking calendar or use a consultation request form. Details on photos and consultations are in our guide to before and after photos and colour consultations.
Your real reviews, linked and quoted with permission
The site links to your Google reviews and can show reviews you have permission to quote, word for word, with the reviewer's first name if they agree. We never write reviews or testimonials, and we don't show a star rating we can't check.
Stay within the rules when you ask for reviews. Google says offering discounts or freebies in exchange for a review is strictly prohibited 1 . Our article on getting more Google reviews sets out a simple way to ask.
Built for the phone in the customer’s driveway
Plenty of people look up a painter on their phone, often standing in front of the house that needs the work. Every page is laid out for a small screen first: large tap targets, a phone number that dials when tapped, a quote button that is always within reach and photos compressed for the web, so the gallery doesn't stall on a weak signal.
Pages search engines can read, without ranking promises
Each page gets a clear title and description, headings that describe the content, structured data that tells search engines what your business is, and a sitemap. That's the groundwork search engines need.
It isn't a promise of rankings. Nobody can honestly guarantee where a site appears on Google, and we don't.
Hosting, SSL and security updates, never a separate bill
Hosting sits inside the monthly fee. Nothing separate to pay, nothing to renew each year, and no updates for you to run on a Sunday night. Your site loads over https, and we keep the software behind it updated. If something breaks, fixing it is our job, not a line item.
Up to 5 content edits a month
A content edit is one change to an existing page. Send it by email or message and we make it. Typical edits for a painting business:
- Add new before and after photos
- Update prices or a service description
- Add or remove a suburb
- Change your hours or phone number
- Post a "booked until" notice for the busy season
- Swap the photo on your home page
New pages, new features or a redesign are outside the plan. We price them first, and nothing is charged unless you agree.
A monthly report of every enquiry the site received
Each enquiry is sent to you the moment it arrives. Once a month you also get a short report of them all: how many there were, and the date and job type of each. Over a season it shows whether the site is pulling its weight, and whether people are asking about the work you want more of.
Your domain and your content stay yours
Your domain name is registered in your business name and paid to the registrar by you, so it is always yours. The words, photos and logo you supply stay yours too. If you leave after the minimum term, we give you a copy of your content on request and help you point the domain wherever you choose.
The full terms are on the plan terms page, and the price is set out on pricing.
Not part of the plan
- Paid advertising, such as Google Ads, and the ad spend.
- Logo or brand design.
- Writing your content: you supply the words, photos and prices, and we lay them out.
- Domain registration fees: the domain is registered in your business name and you pay the registrar.
